이승은 작가는 자연으로부터 영감을 받아 작업한다. 쫓기듯 이어지는 일상에 지쳐 있을 때, 자연을 보며 삶이 가진 본연의 모습과 가치를 되돌아본다. 이를 재조명한 작가는 자연의 질서가 사람의 고유한 존재가치를 일깨워준다고 생각하여 자연의 질서와 삶의 방향성을 작품에 녹여낸다.
2020년도 이후로 작가는 자연의 질서를 잊고 삶의 방향을 잃어버렸던 때를 광야로 정의하고 표현했다. 2021년 이후는 작가의 삶에 두 번째 광야가 찾아오면서 자신이 광야에 있는 이유가 Nomad, Homeless 여서가 아니라 진정한 집 Home 으로 가기 위한 재정비임을 깨닫는다. 그렇게 땅을 감싸는 아우라가 하늘과 땅 사이에 둘러지기 시작한다.
현재는 광야에서 '집으로 가는 길'을 발견한 것을 시각화하며 작가 본인과 타인에게 인생이라는 여정에서 계속 눈을 들고 발을 떼며 나아가야 할 방향성을 제시하고 있다. 거친 길, 찬란한 길, 낮과 밤 등 언제 어느 곳에 있든지 자신에게 주어진 것을 온전한 자신의 것으로 받아들이는 것(enjoy)을 즐거운 우리집(Home Sweet Home) 으로 고백하고 있다. 자연으로부터 영감과 보호, 피드백을 받으며 삶의 여정을 심미적으로 완주하는 것을 표현한다.
